Clubless William Carvalho could miss the game for Portugal, having been absent from training in the build-up with a minor injury, but Gelson Martins and Raphael Guerreiro are fit to start.
Uruguay defender Jose Gimenez, who scored their first goal of the tournament, should also be ready to return after sitting out their final group game with Russia.
Uruguay and Portugal will face off in their last 16 tie at the Fisht Olympic Stadium on Saturday in a huge clash that will see the winners take on either France or Argentina in the quarter-finals.

Portugal started their Russia campaign strongly with a 3-3 tie over Spain and a 1-0 win over Morocco, but their recent fixture against Iran – which ended 1-1 – was bathed in controversy during the dying seconds as the opposing team was awarded a penalty through VAR.
Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to step up for Portugal after scoring four goals this tournament and will face off against forwards Luis Suarez of Barcelona and Paris-Saint Germain's Edinson Cavani.
Uruguay head into the last 16 tie against Portugal with a spotless defensive record, having yet to concede a single goal this tournament. They also boast a winning streak and will be looking to register a win over Portugal, whose journey in Russia has not been as straightforward.
The Selecao equalised with Spain 3-3 in their first game but struggled to break down a staunch Iran side in their final group fixture, and the outcome of Group B would have been very different had the VAR not intervened and awarded Iran a penalty. In the dying minutes of the game, all scenarios were possible as Portugal would have been eliminated from the tournament had Iran nicked a win during stoppage time.
